Trollius laxus

A lover of boggy areas (but grows well in average soils), this native Globeflower has soft, creamy yellow flowers that bloom for a long time. Check out the Garden in the Woods in Framingham, Massachusetts for a lovely planting of this perennial.

Trollius are beautiful globular buttercup flowers that prefer cool, moist soils (even heavy ones). Cut back foliage midsummer.
